Learn all you can about filmmaking. Learn the different styles and techniques. Take up photography because it'll help with your directing immensely. Any good film program/school will do.

Certainly one might hope you do more than just "Visit" any school you choose. Obviously if you live local to that one, then logic suggests that's the school for you,,, BUT all schools educate in some different formats, and a director, eventually, hated or loved, develops a personality that becomes known, as much as being known for directing skills. You can get as much from any School that offers stage or screen direction courses, and I suggest learn everything about the craft, from any lighting, rigging, blocking, methodologies, to where the catering carts will be.

Does anybody know of a good BJJ school in LA? I want to go to a school that attendance is mandatory, not just show up at any class times available. I've been to a few where I can just show up to any class of the week, but I want to find a place that is strict so I can progressively get better, not a place to just exercise.

If you're a teen, try Young Actors Studio in North Hollywood. They have great teen/young adult classes, all the info on times and costs are on their website. I really want to learn the ins and outs of screenwriting, film, and script. I already have a B.A. in mass communications but its not from a well-known university. I am thinking of going to the LA Film School in hopes of making connections, leanring and working while in the process. Does anyone have any experience, or advice for me before I venture out on tht $41,000 investment???

I currently live in Iowa. In my high school we have opportunities to earn several college credits through a local community college. As a junior, I already have a semester of college done. I will be moving to La, California, and I need to find a high school that can do this.

You likely will have to live in the district and in the neighborhood of the school you will attend, if you go to public school. The *best* schools are in very expensive neighborhoods, think a million or more for a small home. But you don't need to go to the *best*, check out community colleges near where you will be living in LA, search their website for high school and something will come up. Some high school / community college programs: http://www.lacitycollege.edu/services/honorsprogram/otheroptions.html http://www.pasadena.edu/admissions/apply/hs.cfm If you mean a top private school, you likely wouldn't have time to attend community college with the amount of homework. Usually private school kids (some start in middle school) will take high school or community college courses during the summer for advancement, like so they can take AP Calculus AB in 9th or 10th grade. But one must get it approved as the course must be as rigorous as the private school courses, and most aren't. Good luck!

How long does it take to get a reply from Insight School of Los Angeles CA?
Okay so last Thursday (23rd) I completed and submitted the online registration for Insight, so I was wondering how long does the process take to get a reply and material sent (laptop, books)? Also I am currently a Junior and have been in school for about a month now and wanted to know if I end up transfering to Insight will ALL my credits transfer too and will I be able to graduate on time? Any experiences/comments on Insight LA, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

And when you send back the computer they make you pay a couple hundred dollars for insurance.If you are depending on them to contact you about your credits you are screwed, you need to press them and keep calling until you get what you need.
