Place the name of each school separately into you favorite search engine and then add the phrase ratings and reviews. This is a good way to make a comparison./

Neither is better than the other, it depends on which school is the best fit for you. Archer might be a little more academic, but not by much. Marymount is Catholic and tuition is a bit less (common for Catholic schools). The schools are rather similar in the scheme of things. Go to the Open Houses and visit the schools and see what you think. My son figured out immediately which was the best school for him when he was looking at private high schools last year. And he was right, he loves his school, even though it's extremely rigorous and he has 4 - 5 hours of homework a night. But it's the right fit for him. Be sure to stud for the entrance exam (ISEE, HSPT, SSAT). You can get test prep books at amazon.com or you might want to see about tutoring. All of these girls schools have something to offer. West LA: Notre Dame Academy LA http://www.ndala.com/ Near Hollywood area: Marlborough LA http://www.marlboroughschool.org Immaculate Heart LA http://www.immaculateheart.org/ Pasadena area: Flintridge Sacred Heart La Canada-Flintridge http://www.fsha.org Mayfield Senior Pasadena http://www.mayfieldsenior.org/ Westridge Pasadena http://www.westridge.org/ (Probably the most academic.) Alverno Sierra Madre http://www.alverno-hs.org/ Good luck!

I really haven't heard anything about it. Of course USC is the best in the state, if not the country. I went to NYU so I am biased. But - I have some co-workers who graduated from Cal. State Fullerton and Cal. State Long Beach if you're looking for a cheaper option. My suggestion would be to get a list of alumni and their contacts from the school and ask them.

Does anyone attend the Los Angeles Film School? Or any film school in California?
I am interested in applying to any film school in California. My first option would be the Los Angeles film school. Does anyone attend the LAFS and how are the classes, environment, and faculty? If you attend a different film school ...please tell me about it. Thanks I live in Chicago, but I would assume that Hollywood is the place where where I can find a job after film school. I want to major in Sound Design and Production Design.

Consider the film schools at Chapman University and Azusa Pacific University. Chapman's is well established and well respected in the industry. Azusa's is newer and well connected.

Is the Pacific Bartending School in Los Angeles a good idea?
Is the Pacific Bartending School in Los Angeles a good idea?
I'm considering the weekend Mixology course. I would like to learn how to make mixed drinks for fun, and to add a little flair to my private parties. The cost for this program is $395. Recommendations? this is totally for personal enrichment, i just want to be able to add a little somethin' fun and sassy to parties. I don't want to be a bartender, i don't think I have the kind of personality to deal with some of the situations bartenders see and deal with on any given evening. I'll take a look at a few of those books

If you are doing it just for fun and your own knowledge, and the school is reputable, go for it. If you are looking to get a job as a bartender though, don't go. These schools can't teach you what it's like to be behind a busy bar. If you are looking for a cheaper method there are lots of good bartending books out there like Mr. Boston's -try Amazon or your local book store.
2
You could buy a lot of books or videos for that price. Plus, you could always refer back to them when needed. It also depends on how serious you want to get with cocktails. Plus, if you're anything like me, you'll forget what you learned before you get the opportunity to use them.
3
Excellent idea. Try a little flair too. Everybody likes a good looking Coyote Ugly girl.
4
NO WAY! go to border's or wherever and pick up a good cocktail book. that is way too much to pay. experiment with your friends, it is pretty easy when your having fun.
5
don't do it if you're looking for a bartending job at somewhere other than a holiday inn. I manage a bar and would rather hire someone with no exper. than someone who has learned bad habits from someone who chances are has never worked behind a ba
